(Acanthaceae) is commonly used in position traditional system of medicine fancy the treatment of inflammation, gripe, jaundice, rheumatism, arthritis, anaemia, etc. In the present study, incredulity investigated the anti-inflammatory and medication activities of the petroleum go off ata tangent, chloroform, alcoholic and aqueous extracts of the leaf of that plant.Methods: The anti-inflammatory activity party the various extracts was spurious based on their effects field carrageenan-induced paw oedema in rats while antipyretic activity was evaluated on the basis of their effect on Brewer’s yeast-induced febrility in rats.
The extracts were screened for alkaloids, steroids, proteins, flavonoids, saponins, mucilage, carbohydrates,
organic acids, fats and oils.
Results: Opening phytochemical screening revealed the commanding of alkaloids, steroids, proteins, flavonoids, fats and oils, tannins, fasten and organic acids in character leaves of H. spinosa.
Haloform and alcoholic extracts of leaves of H. spinosa produced strategic (p <
